Human Trauma, Animal Trauma, and the Encounter Between Them
What Will We Learn in the Course?
This is a training course for therapists (social workers, psychologists, art therapists, animal-assisted therapists, and others) who encounter human and animal trauma in the therapy room.
In the first unit of the course, we will dive into theoretical material, and in the second, we will explore clinical material based on the participants’ professional experiences.
The course includes the following educational aspects:
- Introduction to trauma theories
- Identifying trauma symptoms
- Therapeutic tools
- Transfer and countertransference patterns in trauma therapy
- Understanding animal trauma through current research
- Building rehabilitation processes
- At the end of the course, we will connect and integrate human and animal trauma through the eyes of the therapist and through their personal experience in the therapy room.
At the end of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion from Wind Chimes Association and The Human and Animal Institute
Who is the course for?
The course is aimed at animal-assisted therapists who wish to deepen their dynamic training in the world of trauma and their connection with animals present in the therapeutic space.
Additionally, the course is suitable for therapists working from a dynamic approach (clinical social workers, dynamic expression and creative therapists, etc.), who are active in the animal world or who integrate animals into the therapeutic process.
