Individual therapy for Trauma Survivors
How does Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) affect us?
For every man, woman, adolescent, and even children suffering from PTSD, the impact of trauma is evident in many areas of their lives.
PTSD generates various symptoms that affect social life and daily functioning.
Some of the symptoms include:
- Dissociation
- Avoidance behaviors
- Sleep disturbances
- Anxiety
- Intrusive memories
- Narrowed window of tolerance
- Social withdrawal
- Eating disorders
- Self-harm
- Interpersonal difficulties
- Difficulty in forming intimacy
- Emotional numbness, and more...
How can individual therapy help?
The goal of individual therapy with animals is to create a safe connection, process the trauma, and observe its place in the patient’s world.
The process requires a safe space for all types of connection: verbal, non-verbal, and body language.
Each individual therapy session for PTSD is personalized to meet the specific needs and goals of the patient.
The involvement of animals is done according to the preferences of the patients and the animals themselves.
Our therapeutic team is composed of clinical social workers and trauma-informed psychotherapists, who integrate animals in a way that is specifically suited to the trauma of both the patients and the animals.
What does individual therapy include?
- The center provides long-term individual therapy with no long waiting periods.
- We believe that the earlier treatment for PTSD begins, the greater the chances of symptom reduction and the improvement of emotional well-being.
-
Additionally, we encourage and actively participate in systemic work as needed.
This includes cooperation with other therapeutic centers
and collaboration with trauma-focused psychiatrists.
